Care Instructions for the Kalanchoe Plant

Kalanchoe is an ideal plant for beginners, it is very easy to keep. It can be grown both indoor and outdoor.

In Winter it can be placed in a sunny area, but it will also do well in a partly shady area.

During Summer it is recommended to keep the plant in a well-lit area but out of direct sunlight as our Summers tend to be too hot and long exposure in the sun will burn the plant, morning sun is fine. Lack of sun light will result in lack of flower blooms.

It can be planted in sandy soil mix (Miracle grow cactus Mix), or peat with a perlite mix.

Cut out any flowers which have dried out as this will encourage it to bloom again.

Water only when the top 2 inches of the soil is dry, Kalanchoe is a succulent, so it doesn’t need much water as it keeps water stored in it’s leaves, do not wet the leaves while watering.

You can use some fertilizer during periods of growth, spring/summer.

Happy Women’s Day!!!!

Enjoy your plant
