Down Syndrome Day
Dear parents/guardians,
Down syndrome (or Trisomy 21) is a naturally occurring chromosomal arrangement that has always been a part of the human condition, being universally present across racial, or gender lines in approximately 1 in 800 live births, although there is considerable variation worldwide. Down syndrome usually causes varying degrees of intellectual and physical disability and associated medical issues. Down Syndrome Day is celebrated on Monday 21st March. The theme of this year is ‘We Decide‘: inspired by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. On this day 21st March the students are being asked to wear mismatched socks of their choice. Let’s show off our colourful socks!
Thank You,
The School Council

Għeżież ġenituri/kustodji,
Id-Down Syndrome (jew Trisomija 21) huwa arranġament kromosomali li jseħħ b’mod naturali u li dejjem kien parti mill-kundizzjoni tal-bniedem. Dan huwa preżenti b’mod universali bla distinzjoni ta’ razza jew sess u jinstab f’madwar 1 minn kull 800 twelid ħaj, għalkemm b’xi varjazzjonijiet konsiderevoli madwar id-dinja. Id-Down Syndrome normalment jikkawża gradi differenti ta’ diżabilità intellettwali u fiżika u kundizzjonijiet mediċi assoċjati. Jum id-Down Syndrome jiġi ċċelebrat nhar it-Tnejn 21 ta’ Marzu.
Grazzi,

Care Instructions for the Kalanchoe Plant
Kalanchoe is an ideal plant for beginners, it is very easy to keep. It can be grown both indoor and outdoor.
In Winter it can be placed in a sunny area, but it will also do well in a partly shady area.
During Summer it is recommended to keep the plant in a well-lit area but out of direct sunlight as our Summers tend to be too hot and long exposure in the sun will burn the plant, morning sun is fine. Lack of sun light will result in lack of flower blooms.
It can be planted in sandy soil mix (Miracle grow cactus Mix), or peat with a perlite mix.
Cut out any flowers which have dried out as this will encourage it to bloom again.
Water only when the top 2 inches of the soil is dry, Kalanchoe is a succulent, so it doesn’t need much water as it keeps water stored in it’s leaves, do not wet the leaves while watering.
You can use some fertilizer during periods of growth, spring/summer.
Happy Women’s Day!!!!
Enjoy your plant
