World Cancer Day is an international day marked on February 4th to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. Our Kinder 1 classes took part in the WALK WITH JEROME event whereby all classes did a craft in lilac/purple which is the colour related to cancer awareness and then went on a small walk inside the school grounds to commemorate this event.

They also brought a small donation of 1 Euro in aid of Smiling with Jerome Foundation. The lovely amount of 100 Euro was collected and sent to the foundation. The foundation then sent a certificate to each class as a thank you.

School Peace and Nonviolence Day

The choice of January 30 as World School Peace and Nonviolence Day is not by chance, but coincides with the anniversary of the murder of one of the greatest defenders of peace, non-violence, justice and tolerance: Mahatma Gandhi.

January 30th is an opportunity to renew one’s path/commitment to peace and reflect on its meaning and ways to achieve it. Our kinder 2 classes participated in this event!

Pyjama Day

Friday 22nd January

Students look forward to pyjama days at school. Kids like to show off their pyjamas while admiring everyone else’s. It gives them another reason to look forward to school.

On Friday 22nd January the School Council suggested that the students come to school wearing their pyjamas or tracksuit (not uniform tracksuit) against a donation of 1 Euro. Money will be collected in a container at the school entrance before students put on the hand sanitizer.

L-istudenti kollha jkunu eċitati għal dik il-ġurnata meta jkunu jistgħu jmorru l-iskola bil-piġama. It-tfal jieħdu gost jiġu l-iskola juru l-piġama tagħhom u jammiraw il-piġami differenti ta’ tfal oħra. Din il-ġuranta tagħtihom raġuni oħra biex jattendu b’entużjażmu.

Il-Ġimgħa 22 ta’ Jannar, il-Kunsill Skolastiku ssuġġerixxa li l-istudenti jiġu l-iskola libsin il-piġama jew tracksuit (mhix tal-uniformi) u jagħtu donazzjoni ta’ Ewro. Il-flus jinġabru ġo kontenitur waqt li t-tfal ikunu deħlin l-iskola, u wara jiddiżinfettaw idejhom bhas-soltu.
